MULTIVERSE UNVEILS REMIX, REVOLUTIONIZES PROMOTIONAL GAMES BASED ON MOVIES WITH NEW LEVEL OF IMMERSION AND FIDELITY

Company's Unique Technology Maximizes Use of Hollywood-Quality Computer Graphics, Enabling Brands and Agencies to Create Authentic Online Games, Print and Online Advertising, and Promotional Content

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California–Dec. 17, 2009– Multiverse, a leading provider of interactive entertainment technology and services, today announced Remix, a unique technology that radically improves the economics and process of working with proprietary, computer-generated imagery (CGI) common to most Hollywood blockbusters. Multiverse leveraged Remix to create two interactive web-based experiences associated with the worldwide marketing campaign behind Twentieth Century Fox and James Cameron's 3D motion picture epic AVATAR.

"As an industry, Hollywood excels at creating stunningly beautiful, yet expensive and incredibly complex, digital assets – 3D computer-generated models – that add amazing depth and realism to a film's story," said Corey Bridges, executive producer and co-founder, Multiverse. "Before the advent of Remix, however, these assets were virtually impossible – due to time, resources, and technical limitations – to repurpose for other mainstream media, such as online games, promotional websites, advertising, and other marketing-related initiatives. Remix solves this problem, letting promotional partners create more faithful content more quickly and less expensively than ever before."

AVATAR-Based Interactive Experiences
As part of the worldwide marketing campaign behind AVATAR, Multiverse relied upon Remix to power the development of two casual web-based interactive experiences that immerse players into the alien moon Pandora's exotic environment, where much of the film takes place. Both games use CGI assets directly from the film, which were originally created by Weta Digital and Lightstorm (Cameron's production company).

"Multiverse's Remix technology was selected as the foundation of these cutting-edge interactive experiences because of its ability to leverage highly-complex digital assets directly from the film," said Jon Landau, producer, AVATAR. "Without Multiverse, our partners would have had to attempt to recreate Pandora's exotic plants and creatures from scratch...a nearly impossible task."

McDonald's PANDORA ROVR, created in close collaboration with AKQA – a leading creative and technology company – lets players drive a remote exploration vehicle (ROVR) around a virtual Pandora via a Flash interface. Using both a topographical map view and a preview-mode from the ROVR's point of view, players have the opportunity to be the first to explore Pandora's beautiful but alien creatures and plants. Whenever the player wishes, they can capture a photographic-quality digital image of the ROVR's view, which is generated via an NVIDIA-powered render farm. PANDORA ROVR is available in 15 languages and 30 countries.

Coca-Cola Zero's AVTR Advanced Team, which is available through Facebook, was inspired by classic 1980's style arcade games. It challenges players to lead a squad of their friends through the Pandoran rainforest in search of unobtanium ore deposits. While searching for ore, players face deadly creatures and plants, which become increasingly difficult to survive as each level is completed. Multiverse's technology dynamically creates each new level in seconds; no two levels are the same.

The Evolution of Remix
Multiverse is currently working on a number of undisclosed projects that utilize the company's Remix capabilities, as well as several innovative, casual Flash game titles to be released in 2010. The company has plans to productize its Remix service as part of its video-game and virtual-world technology platform for mainstream adoption later next year. Creative agencies interested in learning more about Remix and how it can be integrated into their projects should contact Multiverse for more information.
